Soane River God Mask

The River God Mask is part of the collection at Soane’s Museum and was originally manufactured by Coade in c1775, attributed to the famous English sculptor John Bacon. The design is believed to be inspired by reliefs in the 17th Century gardens of the Palace of Versailles, expanded and laid out by Louis XIV.
