Hamilton Gardens, New Zealand, choose Haddonstone

Hamilton Gardens in New Zealand has chosen Haddonstone to complete its new Picturesque Gardens.  The public botanical garden, located in the south of Hamilton, is one of the region’s most visited attractions and features varied collections displaying the history, context and meaning of gardens.

The Picturesque Gardens celebrates the 18th century Picturesque movement, which was widely influenced by fantasy stories and classical legends.  The team at Hamilton Gardens incorporated several Haddonstone structures and complementary symbolic Masonic designs to portray the story of Mozart’s 1791 The Magic Flute.

One of the recent gardens to have been developed is the 18^th century ‘Picturesque Garden’. It intentionally looks a bit wild and overgrown with a cave, ruins and various 18^th century Masonic symbols all set along a riverside path. Haddonstone products are a feature of the garden including: a pavilion, pillars, sphinx, plaques, statuary and doorways. We try and use Haddonstone products where ever it’s relevant because we know the standard will be spot on.
