Monsieur George Hotel & Spa, Paris

The Client

Monsieur George Hotel & Spa is a sumptuously elegant, bijoux 5-star hotel located in the heart of Paris, directly off the Champs-Élysées.  Part of Paris’ Monsieur Collection group, this 46-bedroom hotel resides in an elegant Haussman-style corner property and is the very image of opulence and Parisian grandiose.

The hotel launched in March 2020, following a significant design project by world-renowned luxury designer Anouska Hempel.  Following a successful career as an actor, which saw Anouska Hempel star in the James Bond classic, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, she turned her attention towards interior design and her synonymous brand has achieved incredible success ever since.
Famous for transforming other notable hotels from Grosvenor House in London to The Duxton in Singapore, Hempel has also injected her trademark splendour to the designs of yachts, gardens and the flagship retail stores of Louis Vuitton in Paris and Van Cleef & Arpels worldwide.
Haddonstone was approached by Anouska Hempel’s team to supply 14 small and four large, intricate bespoke brackets for the hotel’s interior hallways, main entrance and the exterior façade.  The brackets were to be illuminated from behind by a warm white uplight and therefore to serve as beautiful stone accent lights complementing the hotel’s overall style.

The Solution

Haddonstone’s experienced team created the brackets by firstly producing two bespoke wooden models.  A large wooden model measuring 200 cm in length and a small wooden model measuring 81 cm in length were hand carved by our studio team to the client’s exact specification.  Meticulous detail was applied to create the models, which featured scrolls at the top and base, along with flower motifs, fan detailing and decorative beadwork along the centre.

Once the models were created, a fibre glass mould was then produced to enable our team to create the 18 bespoke brackets.

Additional shell and dentil details were affixed to the base of each final bracket by hand and a cavity added to each model and mould in order to house the required wiring and LED light fixture.

Haddonstone’s Portland colour and revolutionary TecLite fibre-reinforced material were chosen to produce the brackets.

Steel brackets were also supplied as fixings.
