The Waterloo Urn is an imposing planter in classical form with deep gadrooning and egg-and-dart detail to the rim. Stockport Borough Council commissioned Haddonstone to produce a series of these imposing Waterloo Urns as focal points to line the terraces at Lyme Hall, Cheshire – now owned by the National Trust. Lyme Park and Lyme Hall have been used in many films and television programmes, perhaps most famously in the BBC TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice in 1995.
This piece is the perfect ornament for lining terraces, walkways and balustrading, or can be used as a focal point in a garden or landscape.

The Battle of Waterloo, fought in 1815, saw the Imperial French army of Emperor Napoleon defeated by the combined armies of the Duke of Wellington and the Prussian army under Blücher. The defeat at Waterloo put an end to Napoleon’s rule as Emperor of the France.
