The St Ives Modro System ™ is inspired by a Barbara Hepworth textile design. This unique modular concept comes from designers Rosie Irving and Antonia Young.
Haddonstone has transformed the design into a three dimensional form, used initially as part of the Chelsea Fringe, before it moved to Tate Britain for the duration of the “Barbara Hepworth: Sculpture for a Modern World” exhibition in 2015.
Being a modular system, you have the option to either recreate the entire Barbara Hepworth design or select certain elements to create an entirely new shape. Modules A, B ,C and D are shown in additional images.

Barbara Hepworth was one of the most successful artists in the world during the 1950s and 1960s. Born in 1903, Barbara Hepworth lived in St Ives from 1949 until her death in 1975. The St Ives Modro System ™ has now been moved from Tate Britain to the corner of Black Prince Road and Newport Street, London SE11 6AY – just 150 metres from Damien Hirst’s acclaimed new gallery. Although now showing “signs of wear” following two moves, the installation can still impress visitors.
