Our expert craftspeople recreated this imposing garden planter working from old Victorian postcards for the Leazes Park restoration. We also recreated statues of Music and Poetry as well as the Leazes Park Lions. Leazes Park, which opened in 1873, is the oldest green space in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Now Grade II listed, Leazes Park has recently been restored and refurbished following painstaking research into the original designs. This refurbishment became possible when the park was awarded a grant of £3.7 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Leazes Park is located in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, adjacent to the famous St James’s Park stadium – home of Newcastle United Football Club.
