Haddonstone played a key role in the lottery-funded restoration of Leazes Park, located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our experts crafted other cast stone landscape ornaments for this project, including eagles, urns, statuary and these magnificent lions.

Leazes Park, which opened in 1873, is the oldest green space in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Now Grade II listed, Leazes Park has recently been restored and refurbished following painstaking research into the original designs. This refurbishment became possible when the park was awarded a grant of £3.7 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Leazes Park is located in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, adjacent to the famous St James’s Park stadium – home of Newcastle United Football Club.
