Lancelot "Capability" Brown bust
To mark the tercentenary of Lancelot‘Capability’ Brown’s birth in 2016, Haddonstone commissioned a bust based on Nathaniel Dance’s famous 1773 portrait. No previous portrait bust exists so this is a significant and important work.
Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown (1716-1783) changed the face of landscape design in England and beyond, sweeping away much of what had gone before by creating an idealised countryside of lakes, trees and rolling parkland at such places as Blenheim, Croome, Harewood and Stowe.
