Belton House is a National Trust property in Lincolnshire. The architect thought to have been responsible for the initial design of the country house is William Winde (c1645-1722), although the country house has also been attributed to Sir Christopher Wren (1632 – 1723).

Belton was designed in a restrained Palladian architectural style. A series of more formal gardens were close by, including canal ponds bordered by plantations containing symmetrical walks inspired by the landscape gardener Andre le Notre (1613 –1700). The later Italian garden and orangery were designed by Jeffry Wyatville (1766 –1840) in the early nineteenth-century.
