The cast stone Adam Pedestal from Haddonstone is a stylish pedestal in the popular Adam Style of the architect Robert Adam (1728–1792). Robert Adam was a renowned Scottish neo classical architect, interior designer and furniture designer. In 1754 he left for Rome, spending nearly five years on the continent studying classical architecture. On his return to Britain he established a practice in London, where he developed what became known as the Adam Style. Robert Adam became one of the most successful and fashionable classical architects in the country. Adam influenced the development of Western architecture, both in Europe and in North America. Also available is the B495 Adam Pedestal, designed for a small garden urn, garden finial, bust or garden ornament in either an exterior or an interior setting

IMPORTANT: ADAM PEDESTAL SITING It is essential that your Adam Pedestal is sited on a firm and level area to suit site conditions and loadings. An 8 to 1 sand/cement bedding mortar should be used to ensure that the weight of the Adam Pedestal and bust is spread evenly across the base of the Adam Pedestal, avoiding any pivoting or twisting strain. We cannot accept responsibility for cracking or breakage if this instruction is ignored.
