Haddonstone’s Managing Director, David Barrow, has featured on BBC Radio Northampton’s Helen Blaby Show.  David was interviewed by Helen at the Haddonstone manufactory at Brixworth, Northamptonshire this morning, where he discussed the company’s partnership with the University of Northampton, which launched in October last year.

Haddonstone has provided a group of Product Design BSc (Hons) students with the opportunity to create new designs that could eventually be added to Haddonstone’s commercial range of architectural, landscaping and garden products.  As part of a live client project, 17 second year students were tasked with individually developing new ideas to form part of a new street furniture range.  They presented their ideas to the company earlier this month.

The designs will be produced using Haddonstone’s unique cast stone materials and the project will be assessed as part of the students’ degree programme.

Two students that took part in the project were also interviewed at the manufactory and described their enjoyment of the project and how working on a live client project has provided them with invaluable exposure to real world product design challenges.

Haddonstone will award prizes to the best three design concepts later this month and look forward to continuing our partnership with the university.
