The Client

The end client of this striking new-build mansion in Surrey was keen to build a large, bespoke family home.  They instructed Surrey-based Mitchell Evans Architects to design the unique property, which incorporates traditional red brick architecture with crisp, neo-Georgian accents.

Haddonstone was approached by the project’s contractor, K M Grant, to produce a variety of high-quality, bespoke cast stone architectural components.  The cast stonework supplied was produced for both structural as well as aesthetic purposes.

The Solution

Our team worked closely with the architect and contractor to produce a variety of bespoke architectural components for the project.  These included standard design window surrounds, as well as an adapted semi-bespoke window surround with projecting keystone.

Other components included the distinctive quoins which trace the outline of the exterior walls, a string course, copings and the impressive entrance detail, as well as internal columns.

All of the cast stonework elements were produced using our wet-cast limestone TecStone material.  This material was chosen for its smooth, contemporary surface texture which does not weather quickly and is easy to clean.  This robust material was also chosen because our team were able incorporate structural reinforcement and cast-in fixings.

Our classic Portland colour was chosen for each component.
