- Humphry Repton bust
£419.00
Haddonstone commissioned this impressive bust based on engravings to mark the bicentenary of Humphry Repton’s death. It complements our 2016 portrait bust of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown – the first ever created. Similar in scale they work well as a pair (purchase separately). Position on a Haddonstone pedestal to give greater prominence and visibility within a garden setting.
Humphry Repton (1752-1818) is considered the successor to ‘Capability’ Brown. Famous for his ‘Red Books’ showing ‘before’ and ‘after’ views, Humphry Repton’s landscapes often incorporated a transition between house and grounds with terraces and balustrades. Important commissions included Harewood, Hatchlands, Holkham, Russell Square, Sheringham, Uppark and Woburn.
